Hola familia!!
Como estan ustedes?! (How are you all?) Espero que todo esta bien (I hope everything is good). Este semana era muy bien para mi (This week was really good for me.) Okay enough of the spanish. If y’all spoke spanish I would write an entire letter to you…but you don’t. 🙁 It’s okay though. I am doing pretty darn great. We had transfers again this past week and I stayed here in Arlington with Sister Q. I’m okay with that, because I still don’t feel like I know the area or the ward members very well. Hopefully I can get to know it better before she gets transferred or goes home. She finishes her mission in November, and she thinks that we will stay together until then, and that I will “kill” her. (That is when you send a missionary home…well when you are their last companion before they finish their mission) I sure hope not, because last time I did that with my trainer I got really trunky. But it’ll happen the way it is supposed to. (Oh ps. we were top companionship this week! Yeah!)
Anyway, we have so many great things going on in our area. We have 5 pretty legitimate baptismal dates. One family, the mom and the two sons have dates, and they have been taking the lessons for like 12 years. The mom is practically a member, except she hasn’t been baptized yet. I think the thing that is holding them back is the dad. He just doesn’t seem to get it. Anyway, so they have a date for the 25th of this month. The other two are for Carrie, who we have been teaching for a little while. And also for a lady named Shellie. They are both really cool. We have only been teaching Shellie for a couple weeks now, but she is just so ready. She loves everything we teach and how it has answered all of her questions. She studied with the JWs for a little while, but she really didn’t agree with a lot of the things that they taught. But so far she agrees with everything we have taught her. 🙂 And Carrie is this 14 year old girl we have been teaching for while. She had a date a little while ago, but they announced it in Young Womens at church, and she got all scared. But this time we got her. She is even starting to bring her friend to church. She’s not even a member, and she is already doing missionary work! Yeah!
Okay so this week we had a couple fun/crazy/memorable experiences.
First, on Friday, we had an…interesting experience. Mom…don’t be worried everything is fine. But it happened when we went to go see one of our investigators, Joe. So we pulled up to the house. Joshua, their “son in law” (the guy who is with their daughter Jana), pulled up to the house a few seconds after we did. Sister Q was on the phone talking to our exchange, but she told me to roll down the window, and ask Joshua if Joe was there. I rolled down the window to ask him, and all of the sudden this truck pulled up next to his car. A guy got out of the car got out and started yelling and swearing at him. Then he just started beating him up. Another guy got out immediately after, and they were both hitting him. Sister Q yelled at me to back out so we started backing out, and she called 911. There ended up being 7 guys in all, against the two son in laws. After that the rest of the family came out of the house. We circled back around, and the car was gone, and the police were there. They talked to everyone, and got statements and stuff. It ended up being okay, but we had to stay for a while to calm everyone down, and pray with them and stuff. So that was really fun. I got the biggest adrenaline rush ever! But yeah, so Mom don’t worry. I just wanted to tell you about our crazy experience. 🙂
We have had a little bit of drama with a less active member, because she was having troubles with her man, and then when she came to church on Sunday, she told us that the day before her “husband” tried to kill her by stabbing her. She had to call the cops on him, and they put him in jail.
So crazy times. But as they say…when it rains, it pours.
Anyway…
Mom: I’m so glad you are getting kids to watch. The Lord is definitely blessing you. 🙂 Just remember to keep doing everything you can to let him bless you. :):)
Dad: We had some peaches the other day from a member, and they were so good. I don’t even like peaches, but they were super sweet and juicy. And really big.
Emmysaurus: How did you have ANOTHER car crash?!?!? You crazy girl. I think you just need to be a little more observant with you drive. Or at least not tail people. 🙂 That’s cool though. Who is that Tanner guy that you wrote to? I don’t even know who that is. By the way, you should write to me before you write to Colter. I think I’m a little more important. 🙂 Jk jk.
Anyway, I better go now. I love you all! Les quiero mucho!!!
Love, Kelsey
