Puvis [puh-vis]
Once while my sister-in-law and family were watching a movie, when our nephew Sean was quite young, he got up to get something. As he got up, someone in the room asked him to get an item for them, then someone else asked him to get something for them. Finally, Sean said very firmly, “I’m not the puvis!”
Well, the family decided that he must have thought that it meant that he was not the slave. So ever since then, when someone asks too much of another person in our family, it’s not uncommon to hear the person say, “I’m not the puvis!”
