FAM!!!!!!!

Hello my dearest family 🙂
How are you all?? Sounds like all is well.
You got an email from Pres. M.? Awww he is the best.
I am doing most excellent. We had Zone Conf. this week it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sister C. came in this week and she is so cute and a wonderful sister. She is staying here until they send her to Suriname in a month and a week.
Training is going well. She is very prepared!
At Zone Conference Elder Zivic (from the 70) came and spoke and his wife and everything.
I cried a little bit mostly because it was my last Zone Conference ever.
This last week we have been helping Sister C. to get to know the area better and we had a good council with the missionaries in setting goals and working to help the branch here 🙂
Al!! I met an Elder at ZC from Durban South Africa!!!!! He might know you. Did you know the R. family?
We are teaching a young man (21) named A.! He is so prepared and we are working with him helping him prepare for baptism! It is going awesome. This following week I will be traveling to Barbados and also Suriname soon!! COOL BEANS RIGHT!? I am going to South America!!
Anyway sorry I am just so scatter brained today and there is so much to tell.
I will need some money on my card soon because of buying stuff from here… That “s” word… I can’t spell it… the gifts you get on vacay.
Anyway sorry this is a little short! Thanks for the notes and quotes. I love you all so very much and am grateful for you. Have a great week and be good!!!! How’s the BOM challenge?? Did you try it??
Love, Sister Emily 🙂

Temple Tuesday?

A new chapter has started in my life.

I have been very blessed to do daycare in my home for three years. I love children. I love the ones I’ve tended. I can’t imagine my life without the experience of having them in my home.

The new chapter is that I have a new job. It is a great opportunity.

So, I will not be available for Tuesday Adventures anymore. We will continue to attend the temple every week. It is a glorious place and such a blessing to our week, and to our lives.

Tonight we attended the Brigham City Temple. It is so beautiful!

photo 1 (6)Just look at it!

And when we came out this little treat was on our car. photo 4 (3) It was a sweet experience that’s for sure!!!

Hey my beautiful people!!!

Sounds like you all had a great week. I can’t wait to see the temple!!!
Good job with your job mama that’s awesome 🙂
Tell Gram that I love her so much and give her the biggest hug for me. I wish I could be there to give her some noisy kisses!
My STL responsibilities are going well…… Speaking of which… I have some news….
On Saturday morning President M. called me and told me that he wants me to train again! Yeeee!! Her name is Sister C. (she is going to go to Suriname just like Sister K. who I trained) (she is waiting for her visa) BUT Sister W. and I are staying together!! We will be in a trio! Reason being there needs to be someone to be with my companion because he also called me to Sister Training Leader over Barbados and Grenada as well. So now I will be STL for FIVE ISLANDS and 14 Sisters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy cats. So I will be gone half of the transfer traveling the islands and helping out the sisters! Ha. No pressure right?
Anyway I am excited to learn from the Sisters and to be learning and I train again.. There will be lots of wonderful experiences and I am grateful for this opportunity.
Anyway all is well here. We are working so hard and finding great success through working with the members! It is awesome 🙂
We are having a huge Zone Conf. with a member of the 70 this coming Monday so you probs won;’t get an email!!!! I am excited! I will let you know how it goes!!!
Sorry I am so short on time this week! I love you all so much and thanks for your words!
This week make sure that you recognize Heavenly Father and his tender mercies. They are all over!!!
Love you!!! Love, Sister Emily

Sunday Best!

“Just as earthly seeds require effort and patience, so do many of the blessings of heaven. We cannot put our religion on a shelf and expect to harvest spiritual blessings. But if we plant and nurture gospel standards in the daily life of our family, there is a high probability that our children will grow up to produce spiritual fruit of great value to them and to future generations.

God’s answers to our prayers do not always come immediately—sometimes they do not appear to come at all—but God knows what is best for His children. Assuredly, one day we will see more clearly; and on that day we will recognize the goodness and generosity of heaven.

In the meantime, our goal and great joy is to walk in the footsteps of our Master and Savior and to live good and refined lives so that the promised and precious harvest of God’s priceless blessings can be ours.”

-Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Hope your Sunday is the Best! Love, Joy

Hello to the family of my dreams…

How in the stink are you!?
I am glad that you all had a marvelous week! I did as well.
Last week with the kids??? Mayn! I am going to miss them 🙁 But I am excited to hear how your new job goes!!
Ok so I am sending pictures so my email will be shorter!! I will tell you all the important things 🙂
This week was a great week!
We are working with lots of members! The majority of our teaching pool is member referrals so that is the best 🙂
This week we had dinner at a white med student couples house!! They are so nice and from Arizona.
This week I was still feeling pretty worn out and tired and achy from my illness! But I felt much better now!!
I skyped both the St. Lucia Sisters and Suriname Sisters. It was wonderful they are such awesome sisters!! I counselled them on things they are struggling with and followed up in things and stuff!
Miracle of the week: We met this man A. He is a blessing. We had a first lesson with him and then left him with the Restoration booklet and he read the whole thing and understands it completely. He is so excited about the gospel and just wants to learn more! He is very prepared and I am so grateful for him 🙂 He is a referral from A. (the angel member). LOVE IT!
Sometimes my heart just feels so overwhelmed with joy and love for the gospel. Many tender mercies remind me why I am here and help me to stay strong through anything.
We were left a challenge by the mission president, to read from the Book of Mormon and ponder on a specific topic and read through and highlight those things and answer questions we have. I decided to study prayer. I have seen miracles! I was doing this with the intent of having more sincere effective prayers and my whole experience is changing. I find myself praying and just starting to cry because I know that I am speaking to my Father and that he is listening and loves me. And he also knows and loves the people that I pray for so earnestly.
I think you all should take this challenge and apply it in your lifes!
Also my challenge and commitment for you this week is to read Moroni 7:45 and as read you read through replace the word charity with your name and see if you think it applies to you…..
We need to be more Christlike in our lives. Heavenly Father can help us.
I know with all my heart that the Book of Mormon is true. It has helped bring changes in my life.
Recently I have been writing down a lot of my thoughts and things that led to my mission and it is AMAZING to see how the Lord has worked in my life. Anyway so many good things!
Funny thing: Yesterday right before church we were walking out the door and THE HUGEST SPIDER WAS ON OUR DOOR AND ALMOST WENT IN OUR HOUSE!!! It scurred me so bad. I also gave a talk yesterday! It was very nice I hope. It was on Enduring Well.
Alright that is mostly all for this week. I am doing well and still going 110%!! Yay!!!!
I love you all dearly. Thanks for all you do everybody!
Love always, Sister Emily 🙂

Sunday Best!

“It is soul-satisfying to know that God is mindful of us and ready to respond when we place our trust in Him and do that which is right. There is no place for fear among men and women who place their trust in the Almighty and who do not hesitate to humble themselves in seeking divine guidance through prayer. Though persecutions arise, though reverses come, in prayer we can find reassurance, for God will speak peace to the soul. That peace, that spirit of serenity, is life’s greatest blessing” -Ezra Taft Benson

Hey yo!!!! How are you my favorite people??

YAY!!!!!!!!! You got a job! Good luck. You will do awesome 🙂
Sounds like everything is balling. Or rolling. Sounds like all is well.
I am going to miss the daycare kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh man.
Ok so flip. This week was absolutely crazy.
After we got home last P-day my ankle got real swollen and I couldn’t walk on it! And I got a rash all over my body…. I GOT CHIKUNGUNYA which is this illness that is going around the carib. Most of the week I slept and I was on some serious pain meds! But after a blessing, meds, sleep, water and ice on my ankle. Both my ankle and my illness are all better!!
This week while I was sick I had a lot of time to think and I found that my thoughts were wandering far away. So I spent any spare second reading my scriptures and talks and praying. Still I just felt idle and yucky. I am so glad to be back to normal. I am still a little tired and off but I am good 🙂
Funny moment of the week: One of our investigators gave us a huge framed picture of a Black Jesus Rasta man Last Supper… It is hanging in our house right as we speak.
I called Sister M. this week because I was in need of some counsel and guidance. She helped me so much. I told Sister W. “I miss my mom, I used to talk to her about everything” I missed you for a moment but I knew what advice you’d give me and it made me feel better.
I was feeling a little bit weighed down at the end of the week and kinda putting myself down. Like I do sometimes……. But there are so many blessings that Heavenly Father is giving us. I need to have an increase of faith and to rely on God more. I felt much better after we just went out and got to work! We had an awesome lesson at A.’s (members) house. We were talking about what we learned at church and the spirit was so strong and right in the middle her Nephew walked in the house and joined in the lesson and we had a solid first lesson with him, He is golden!!!! What a blessing.
Also this week we visited a Methodist church. It was nice. They sang some good songs and I think it opened up our investigator to coming to church 🙂
Oh by the way I can’t remember if I told you but my camera is broken…………. It got wet……..
All is well though! Ya know? Life goes on.
Something that I have been pondering a lot on is how short life is. Honestly Life is too short to sit around and waste time. We need to be doing our best all the time. We are capable of so much. Also it is pointless to sit there and worry about something that has happened in the past. We can’t change the past but we can learn from it. So we should all stop stressing and fussing about things we can’t change, and just move forward.
So that is pretty much my week!!! It was nice. I am still learning so much and am humbled and grateful every day. Thank you for your love and support and kindness for me.
I love you so much!
HAVE A GREAT WEEK! LOVE YOU ALL!!
Love always, Sister Emily
