Elder Flexy 9:4

Make,

Life is awesome! this week has been awesome! we had a zone conference so we were back in SA for two days it was kinda weird to be back in the real world. but life here in Swaziland is the bomb. we had the funnest zone activity today it was too fun. we went to see tribal dances and then they came into the audience and had us come dance too, so i went down it was pretty fun. i won’t lie i had a little “Jungle Fever” those swazi girls were pretty and don’t worry it wasn’t the one where they are immodest, they were fully clothed. but it was fun then we toured a real swazi residence where people actually live. it was too fun anyway then we had an awesome hike to a water fall and it was sweet.  but ya life is good. i’m glad all is well in zion. anyway love you.

    Love Elder Flexy

Baba,

anyway life is good love you.

*I received another email and picture from Sister B- she’s the best!!!
“This picture was taken at an orphanage on Friday. As you can see he is a busy missionary, he is happy and healthy and loves being in Swaziland. We went to see the Senior Princess of Swaziland, that was her orphanage; she loved the visit from the missionaries and gave permission for them to travel throughout her Chieftain area without any harrassment.  The missionaries sang a song for her and then gave her a blessing.  She is 81 years old.”

Howzit-Elder Flexy!

So it is Tuesday and I still haven’t heard from Flexy. I have heard that the internet isn’t that great where he is. So I emailed one of the “Senior Couples” (retired couples) who are serving there and asked her if everything is ok. She said, “Yes!” and sent me a really great email and pictures so here it is for
Howzit-Elder Flexy 9:2 -email-

Sister S,

We just spoke to Elder [Flexy] and he is just fine; he did send you an email yesterday, however the internet in Swaziland sometimes just does not work.  We are in touch with his District every day and see his Zone Leader quite often, they live in the same house.  Elder [Flexy] is well liked by all the Elders in the Swaziland District, we had them over last week for a barbecue and when they are here we watch the interaction they have with each other and all of them really like your son.  The black and white companionship is extremely powerful in teaching the gospel because the white Elders bring knowledge of how the Church work, Church History, family relations, the black Elder brings passion since they are almost always new converts themselves.  He then shared an experience which he and Elder Webster had when giving  a lesson, he and Elder Webster shared their testimony and when Elder Ng’Anda came to pick them up, Elder Ng’Anda then shared his testimony and there was such a difference with the spirit, it was so much more powerful, not that their testimony was not powerful, Elder Ng’Anda is a convert and his passion for the gospel is great.  I see our American Elders sharing so much with their black companions and the black Elders in this Zone.  They always let the black Elders eat first and take what is left, they always share what they have and never care if the black Elder probably takes more than he should; they understand that what these Elders have to go back to is so little;  sometimes not even a blanket to keep them warm at night; sometimes they are orphans and will have to go back to their Branch President and try to get a home from there.  You can be very proud of your son as a missionary, he works very hard; he loves Swaziland; he has shared his Testimony in Zone and District Meetings and always expresses his gratitude for being sent to Swaziland.  The pictures are of a couple of animals he will get to see before he leaves this area.  His district had to cancel their hike and barbeque yesterday because of thunderstorms.  We went with the Manzini District on a mini Safari and took these pictures; we are going to try to get the Mission Home to approve this safari for all the boys before they get transferred.  We have 16 Elders now in Swaziland, and they are baptizing a lot of people.  If you have any concerns, I will be happy to write to you at any time.
Sincerely, Sister B

Sister S;
Elder B and I needed to take an iron to the missioanries in
Mbabane and Elder [Flexy] with Elder Diseko needed a lift to their
morning appointment. He knows we took the face view but we thought you
would like a view of them about their Father’s Business.

My darling Elder, It was a beautiful day today. The sky was clear and sunshiny. The temperature was actually warm. I am ready for spring. You’re probably thinking, I’m ready for fall. Anyway, It was a wonderful Sabbath. Our church was great. We had super lessons and then the Poppa and Juanita Fowers spoke. They’re going on a mission to LA, California. It’s a family history mission. They will do great. They’re talks were great. Then we went to Kelsey’s ward and heard her talk. Wow! She is ready. Her talk was great. I am so glad she decided to go. She has made some changes in her life and she is happy and at peace with her decision to go. I know she will do great. Thanks for being the trail blazer and setting a good example for your siblings to follow. I love you so much! I better quit. It is about time for you to get up. Have a great week! Alex, How are you? We had a great Sunday. Church was super, We had a lesson on service and lots of people made comments we shouldn’t do service expecting a reward so, Chad said he doesn’t mow Mike Theis’s lawn  in hopes that Mike will offer to let him ride his Big Dog (motorcycle). Leon and Juanita spoke in church. They are leaving soon for California. After our ward we went to Kelsey’s Sacrament meeting, she gave a really good talk. The opening song was “because I have been given much” That song kills me, I don’t get through the first line before I am Bawling. What a boob. We had dinner at Brads house for a change it was great. Ariane was there with her 2 darling kids. she is doing ok. Brad and Cindy’s 4 dogs are so cute. Caleb is getting married in June to Kristy. I went skiing with Riley last Mon. It was fun but a little windy. Tues. would have been a better choice, it was a beautiful day. Today was in the 60s. soo nice. We had two soccer games this week, so it went like this. Flexy Boo Lou,

Hey buddy? How’s life? I hope things are good for you. I’m doing pretty good. Still just getting things ready for when I leave. I’ve been a little stressed about that, but I know that the Lord will provide and take care of what I can’t do, as long as I do all I can. Today I went to mission prep for the first time in a while. It was really good. If the MTC (Missionary Training Center) is anything like that, I know I’m going to love it. Also I spoke in my sacrament meeting. I was super nervous, but I guess I did okay. I’m going to have to add a little more before I speak in the home ward next week, because I’m supposed to take about ten minutes. Anyway things are good. I better go though. At the family party earlier tonight, Cash head butted me in the nose, so now I have a headache. Continue the work. Keep doing what you are doing. The gospel is so true! 🙂 Love you lots. Love, Kelsey

Kelsey,

man i’m kinda jealous you will be in the mtc!! i would live there the rest of my life if i could its was so nice. anyway sorry the computer is glitching so others need to have a turn. love you

Mage,
things are going great in swaziland it is very nice here and the work is going forward. i am enjoying the new area and all is well here.
1 How is your toe?
1.my toe is ok still hurts but i’m doctoring like crazy.
2 How much are you walking?
2.well from 10:30 to 8:00 every day exept appointments. so a lot.
3 How is your new area?
3.new area is good i’m learning even more language they speak Swati here but its close to Zulu so its not to hard.
4 How many people are you teaching?
4.lots of people this area is full of humble people which is nice.
5 Do they speak English?
5.most do but some don’t
6 Do they have a thick accent?
6.ya you could say that they speak in a very interesting way so its hard to understand most of the time. but we try our best.
7 What is your routine? (Example: Get up, exercise, shower, personal study, comp study, tracting or contacting, lunch, teaching appts, dinner, teaching appts.)
7.well we get up sometimes i work out just a short time because we walk all day so not to hard, then eat breakfast, shower, personal study, comp study. then we go to the area work tract see apointments till bout seven o clock at night then we go to a members house till we get picked up in the car.
8 Have you done anything fun on pday yet?
8.ya we played soccer today and i assisted in three goals and i scored one goal it was good.
9 What kind of housing do most of the people live in in Swaziland?
9.well some live in the mud huts some live in houses and there are some appartment buildings.
10 Do you teach well with Elder Webster?
10.yep when it comes to teaching he is my best companion we teach well together.
11 Are the towns or villages very close together?
11.ya the area where we work is small and the zone leaders work the far away parts of our area.
12 Are the people more receptive to hearing what you have to say?
12.usually but sometimes you meet the babes that think they can’t learn anything from young chaps like us
Special Question:
13 What does it mean to be meek? How can we be meek?
13.well i would say that meek is similar to humble and submissive so its your ability to see that you don’t know everything and that you can learn still. and you need this in order to grow in the gospel if you know everything what do you need gods help for but the fact of the matter is we don’t know everything.
anyway things are going great. if anything really cool happens i will surly let you know. love you.
