Ok! Hello my wonderful family 🙂 It sounds like you guys are doing great! I AM DOING BETTER THAN EVER! I love it here so very much. I already feel like it’s home. I feel weird when I see white people…. Everyone here is black. Well like 95%. Ok so surprise! I am in a tripanionship. There is three of us! I like it! I’m with Sister T. and Sister C. and we are tearing it up!!! So after I spoke with you at the airport we flew into Trinidad. Can you say coulture shock? Yeah it is…. How do I put this lightly? “Sketch”. The people scared me oh so bad. But I’m used to them now. I’m DEFINETELY not in Utah anymore. We got to the mission home very late. I layed in a bed that the Apostles have layed in!! AH!!!!!! 🙂 It was awesome. Sister Mehr’s parentals are my senior couple 🙂 They are so nice! I love them already! OH!
Wednesday: I said goodbye to my MTC district. We went out with some of the sisters in Trinidad… EVERYONE hits on you here… All the guys try to sweet talk you. It’s cause I’m white. Not because I’m good looking or anything… Because lets face it, I look like poop here. Some guy told me I had an amazing, exquisite face? Hahaha weird. I know. I met both of my comps!!! They are adorable. I love them. We all get along fantastically! At first I was worried because they have known each other for a long time and I just came in and didn’t know anything. The first night was hard but it is much better. I feel like it’s home here already.
Thursday: We went out and taught a bunch.. And contacted! We have a “hard” area.. But I don’t think so. 🙂 We just work hard and we meet such awesome people. We found this guy named E. and he will be a tough one to get. But we enjoy teaching him. N. is awesome she is a progressive investigator 🙂
-Random note: It’s really hard to write everything that happens because there is so much. But I will do my best.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday: We met this way awesome Rasta guy! His name is M. and we have been teaching him. And C.! We inspiredly ran into him yesterday and taught him sooner. He said he wants to know if we are angels and he is very sweet! We went on exchange with a ward member so we divided and conquered! It was wonderful. We are working so hard. SO SO SO hard. I’m being obedient and I can feel the Lords hand in my life 🙂 Basically, my feet hurt, I’m so tired. I just want people to understand but I’m not kidding you when I say this. My heart is so happy. I feel a love for these people and I can’t contain it. I feel a love for this gospel and I must share it. I feel the spirit so strongly and I feel like it doesn’t fit inside me so I might burst! It feels great though!! Ah! There is so much to tell. We have been tracting a lot. And have SO many people to teach. Every day is filled.
We drive on the wrong side of the road here and wrong side of the car. And I’m going to have to learn how to drive soon I’m a little scared!!! People are CRAZY drivers here.
Mama: I love that jar analogy! Kris did a really neat thing for Sharing Time today. She was talking about how the Holy Ghost communicates with us, but we have to be listening. We also have to be choosing the right and doing the best we can. She brought a mason jar and put a penny in it. She shook it around and said, “Can you hear the penny?” Then she handed each of the children a cotton ball. They each took turns putting their cotton ball in the jar. Every so often she would have one of the teachers shake the jar. As more and more cotton balls were added the sound of the penny was quieter and quieter. Finally all of the cotton balls were in the jar with the penny. You could hardly hear it. She went on to tell all the kids that the penny represented the Holy Ghost and the cotton balls represented the sins we commit and the things we know we should do, like go to church, read our scriptures, etc. When we have issues with sinning and not being actively involved with living the gospel, we may not be as in tune with the spirit and what He is trying to teach us. I thought it was a great lesson. Maybe you could use it as a missionary. It is great here! I LOVE THE PEOPLE. It is beautiful. It is so HOT. Sometimes I think I’ll die of sweating and the heat. I literally am never dry. ever. But it all good 🙂  Yes please. (everyone here says yes please instead of yes. No matter what, even if it doesn’t make sense.) It is funny! It sounds like you guys are so busy just like me. Hang in there ok? You are in my prayers and in my heart always. You are the strongest lady I have ever met and I know that you can do hard things. And so can I. And I am. I will probs be training soon! Which is insane!!!! Also I may not be having to learn to speak a language, but I have to learn to understand one! They talk crazy! I hope you have a great week. I love you more than Peanut Butter Twixs and more than the extermemly humid air I breathe in everyday.
Daddy: Sounds like a lot of fun in Bear Lake 😉 not!!! Hahaha I remember when I would help you do that! Sounds like you are doing just so great! I love you so very much! Have a great week! Stay strong!
I know this is where I am supposed to be and I am so happy to be here. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else! I love all of you so much! I am doing great! Don’t worry about me. I’m being taken care of. Have a great week one and all! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 Love, Sister Emily

Hi Mommy!! (this is for everyone) Ok so my email last week was short because there was a weird situation. We logged unto our email just to send a quick email to tell you things that I needed to tell you ASAP…. THEN when we got on we only had twenty minutes until we were going to need to go to the temple and so I had to RUSH!!! And I hate that. But this email will be long! You bet your bottom dollar 🙂
Ok so first… THANK YOU for the package I don’t think I need anything else.. I’ll let you know. I wrote you a letter with more details but I don’t know if you got it yet. We leave on Monday! WE’RE MEETING IN THE TRAVEL OFFICE AT THREE IN THE MORNING! I know. Crazy. I probs won’t get ANY sleep! Oh well I’m going to the West Indies!!!!! (random thought): I haven’t been emailing anyone other than you guys.. Last week I only emailed you guys very briefly, and I am so so so sorry 🙁 So I’ll be leaving the airport in Salt Lake around 6:30a.m. I’ll be talking to you then.. I can’t wait. I want to warn you that I’m going to cry a lot. But just know I’m so happy and it’s a good cry. I’m actually crying as I’m typing this just thinking about it. Ok so where to begin?
People I have seen here: Elder Brady Layton, Elder Josh Beckstead, Elder Jaron Miller, Elder Seth Craven, Elder James Richardson, Elder Daniel Bedwell, Sister Dani Hatch, Sister Kendra Blacker, Sister Shaelyn Wheeler and more!!!! I LOVE IT HERE. My companion is Sister Bratt! And it’s not pronounced “brat”. She is so much fun! We get along great! Sometimes it’s hard to always have someone with you ALL OF THE TIME. But we have so much fun. We already have tons fo inside jokes! We have cried together, laughed together and had spiritual experiences together. It has been a blessing to me. I couldn’t ever do this alone but I feel like I have a good friend to do it with me. I seriously love the girls in our district. They are my sisters. There is me;), Sister Bratt: I really do love her. We are very close and I feel like I have known her forever. She is very kind and she’s a big cryer like me!! Sister Grigg: SHE IS SO FUNNY. We get along SO well. She is hilarious and weird like me. We are basically the same person. We’re going to make a two man band when we get home 🙂 Background story-I talk in one of the daycare kids voice here and sister Grigg tries to do it and she sounds so creepy and we laugh our faces off. Sister Charters: She is literally the sweetest person in the world. We get along so well. And we were friends on FB before we came so we have background it’s so awesome 🙂 Sister Shirts: She is so quiet but I can usually get her to open up and she is so amazing. She has such a sweet spirit. I love her. She is adorable. Sister Kime: She has the best hair in the world. And both our first names are Emily. I seriously love her. And she is really educated and wonderful! I literally would be so sad without these girls. The elders in our district are: Elder Anderson, Elder Fiame, Elder McCarey, Elder Benedict, Elder Wells, and Elder Jensen. These boys are magnificent as well. I have a great relationship with every single one of these people. We are all goofy together and they love my goofiness.
Last time I emailed you I had only been here for a short time. I feel like I have been here for a month at least. But in a good way. I think the Lord puts more hours in a day here so I can learn all I need to learn. I love it. I love my teachers. Sister Hermann and Brother Hancock. They are amazing. I feel like I have grown so much. My heart can hardly contain the love, spirit, unity and everything else 🙂 I have been teaching TRC’s which are practice investigators (some are actually real) but we never know if we are getting a real one or an actor so that’s cool. We were teaching a girl named Gabby and she is very interested in knowing more about the church. We’ve also been teaching Daina… Which is actually sister Hermann in character as another person. I literally think of things she needs to hear and stuff like that. I try and play it as though she is a real investigator. I pray for her, I cry for her and I study for her. I love to teach the gospel. I actually am way better at teaching now (good thing because I leave in 3 days basically). My testimony has strngthened SO much. I know the Lord can help us through any trial or anything. It sounds like you guys are still way busy. But I know that the Lord can help us all through this crazy time in our lives. I think about you guys every single day. I pray for you. But I’m so focused. It would feel weird to be home now. This is where I am meant to be. I know it. I love it. I feel like my heart belongs here. Just know that I miss you guys! Keep sending me letters. It helps! Tell everyone to write me letters and dear elders and everything.
Ok! So story time!!!! I’ll tell the funny ones first!
Funny story: Yesterday this funny kid Elder Jensen in our district (his name is above) started saying something that happened to him before his mission and he started talking about Paranormal Activity and that show is rated R and he’s talking about in the MTC so we were all bursting into laughter. Ok so funny thing though… Elder Jensen reminds me almost exactly of Keat. Kind of in looks. And the goofy side of his personality is like a twin to Keaton Merrill Briggs.
Ok so one cool story: We were singing The army of Helamen on Sunday and our whole Branch Presidency (the old guys) were sobbing. And he told us later on of this one time he was a bishop (in the 1970’s) and the primary was singing that song at the front when all of the sudden it sounded as if an army of spirits were singing with them. He said it was the most spiritual experience experience ever. He said that he felt like our spirits were the ones singing with those children *chills* Needless to say… I cried like a baby. It was amazing. I love the spirit here. It overwhelms we with joy. I know this is true church with everything that I am. I love you guys! Have a great week! Tell me how it all goes 🙂
I need to try and attach some pictures… (i will try) Thanks for the notes and letters from all of you. Keep them coming! I hope this email was better because I actually had a reasonable amount of time! I LOVE YOU GUYS OH SO MUCH! The church is true 🙂 Sorry if my grammar/spelling is awful. They don’t have spell check and I was typing like 103 wpm.  I will talk to you bright and early on Monday… I’m not certain on what time but I will use that phone card thing! Love, Emily
